We had CAS today.
20 kids (10 boys, 10 girls) from Estrada Elementary School came over to Southville
so we could teach them how to play basketball and badminton.
We taught the boys basketball and the second year IB batch taught the girls badminton.
The kids were about 4-6 years old.
They were all fighting for the balls.
Then we made them sit down at the stage platform with their
legs dangling over the edge.
And then I gave them 2 snacks each and we helped them open the wrappers
and we talked to them.
After snack time, they played basketball again.
The boys were going crazy all over the gym, some boys were running around the platform and
we had to fetch them and bring them down because they might fall out and break their
neck or something.
One boy was crying because his head was hit by the basketball.  So my friend, Arisa, carried him and sat him down on the stairs leading up to the stage.  Then I gave him juice to make him feel better.
All kids were going crazy, especially this one boy, his name is "Veeto", he was so makulit, he always
went on the platform intentionally so I could fetch him.  He always played hide & seek and tag with me and when I was resting or just walking around, he would constantly give me hugs from behind.  Then other kids would join.  So they would all chase me around the gym while playing tag while people were playing badminton and basketball.
It's fun playing with them because they all had big smiles on their faces.
I really think that we've given them a good time because when they were all about to leave, Veeto went up to me and asked, "Uuwi ka na?".  I answered, "Oo, ikaw?  Uuwi ka na?"
He nodded yes and gestured his hands up in the air for me to pick him up.  So I did.
And then he gave me a kiss on my cheek.  Haha
What a sweet boy.  Then he ran to his mom and hugged her.
Then in a few minutes, all the kids were leaving and we said and waved goodbye to them.
I was saying goodbye to the kids and then one of the mothers looked at me and mouthed out, "Thank you."
I replied by nodding and smiling at her.
Then Veeto came back and gave Arisa, Katie and me a kiss on the cheek.
I hoped this experience changed them inside.  Because it sure did change me.
